So, we are down in Portland for our second trip of the year. We come down every July & October for business functions. Our October trips are for our function called F.E.D. (Free Enterprise Days). This year, the first night, had two main speakers Bill Britt & Rick Green. Bill is a "retired" person in our industry. Amazing lifestyle and it was great to hear him speak the truth of our status as country right now. Rick Green of rickgreen.com was our second speaker Friday night. He did an amazing talk on preserving our constitution. This country was founded on freedom...freedom of religion, free enterprise, freedom of speech, freedom... I am embarassed to admit how little I know of this country's history.

I love these weekends, I learn so much. It also motivates me to keep learning more and to always keep adding value to myself and everyone around me. I don't have any desire to be in college, but I do have a strong desire to study many subjects.

Pray for our country and for the children being raised in it right now!

I've been busy, but with what?

Geez, it's only been 8 months since I blogged last. Seems like yesterday! :)

Life is great! We have our ups & downs but God is always with so we know everything is under control.

Maddie started the 5th grade. She is doing well and is enjoying her Challenge class more this year. Angel is now in 4th grade and growing by leaps & bounds when it comes to math. Tristan is doing great in 1st grade. She loves her teacher & is slowly coming out of her shell at school. Travis is loving kindergarten. He is in the P.M. class and goes stir crazy waiting for his bus all day. Last but never least, Jackson is in his second year of preschool. He loves school but he says he misses his old bus driver. He went from a pretty lady, Ms. Shannon, last year to a man, Mr. G, this year. Who can blame him?

Chris & I working on building the foundation of our business. We love working together and the hours we choose. We have a great support network and some great new friends. We have amazing earth friendly, organic, affordable products. They really are top of the line. I love not being all about sales, sales, sales! Chris & I have both found a real passion in getting know new people and helping them see they are not living to their full potential. Our goal will always be to serve others so we may serve the Lord!

We recently started our membership at the "Y" and are just having a great time. We both need to lose a few pounds and get in better physical shape. Aside from that it really gives us time to focus on ourselves so we can be better parents for the kids. We really want to set good examples for all of them. I met a new friend(?), the elliptical, and we have rocky relationship so far, but we are working on it! :)

Chris & I are heading down to Portland this weekend for business and always look forward to that time. It is fun just being with each other and we get great training & association.

Crystal is asking for the kids back and we have some court dates over the next few months. At first I was stressed and upset about it. I would never think she is in the wrong for wanting her kids. It does show me she has the desire to take care of them. However, I don't think we are on the same page as far as what the kids need right now. We have complete confidence that God will put them where he wants them and we will find peace with whatever the judges decision ends up being.

I have some amazing women in my life that counsel me and give me direction with prayer & that is something that is so precious to me!

I am looking forward to what God has in store for us over the next year.

Tales of Danger...

The other day I was helping Jacks wash his hands. He said "I have an owie" and he showed me his finger. I said "Oh, how did you get that owie?" He answered me with..."When I was a baby, a tiger did that. We were wrestling."

So, in his short little life he has apparently wrestled a tiger, as a baby, and wrestled a snake at school, as a toddler. I don't know how he is going to survive his elementary years!

Yes, I know...long time no blog!

Well, Chris & I have been busy with our new business. We are involved in an e-commerce project. Things are going Great!!! We love what we are doing and the people we are spending our time with!

Chris & I are able to spend almost every single day together. I love it!

The kids are doing great...

Maddie is cruising along in 4th grade, going to challenge, has artwork in the Reflections program headed for State judging (woohoo), and is becoming a young lady too quickly! :(

Angel is doing excellent in 3rd grade, is kicking some math bootie, and is enjoying geography club.

Tristan is loving full day kindergarten despite, her struggles with selective mutism. She has some great friendships at school and is a feisty little lady!

Travis is back at the same Head Start class this year and couldn't be happier with it. He is our little jumping bean...never sitting still or quiet!

Jacks is in Head Start too! He is in the class next door to Travis, so thankfully they can have their own space for a few hours a day. I think he is secretly training to be the youngest UFC Champ because he some scary moves already perfected!

Tales of Danger...

Here is Danger...

This is an encore presentation of a dangerous fete he performed moments earlier! Daddy missed his first jump, which scared the poo out of Mommy. I don't know if the pic does it justice, but the platform on this playset is pretty tall. The first time he just walked up to the edge and jumped without even hesitating or being provoked. When he hit the ground, he stood up and laughed. So, being the over protective mom that I am (yeah, right!), I encouraged him to show his dad.

Well, we ventured out on our first camping trip of, hopefully, many this year! We went to Alder Lake and stay in the main campground. The kids had a great time! They dug in the sand, played on the playground and went for a swim.

They all slept great, thank goodness! We have our "Vacation Home", a huge tent that sleeps our family of 7 on one half and still has another half to store all our coolers, containers and whatever else finds it's way in.

We... well, they had a great time playing in the water! The kids must not have all their cold detectors developed yet...I was not getting into that freezing cold water. Chris is fine with cold and he didn't even get in! Jackson wasn't too interested in the water. He decided it was much more fun to dig holes, fill them up, then chase everyone with hands full of muck and throw it. The action shot above is him chasing me with two handfulls of mud...he got me, and the camera, good. The price the photographers pay for the good shots, huh? I also had a sequence of Daddy running from him, but we agreed we wouldn't post any pics of us from this camping trip. Maybe, in about 10-15 lbs... :)

Tall Tales of "Danger"

Well, It seems Jackson Danger's amazing life adventures have started at an early age. He has wrestled with snakes before his 3rd birthday even came around...

Last week he had a little scratch on the palm of his hand. So, I asked him..."Where did you get that Bubba?" He said a snake bit him. Then he went on to tell me that he had wrestled the snake. When I asked him where he wrestled the snake, he told me "At school!". (He doesn't go to any school yet). He also told me on Mother's Day that he wrestled the snake again!

Such an exciting "Danger"ous life he leads!

Great News!

We now have custody of our niece, Angel and nephew, Travis! They have been such a blessing and welcome addition to our family!

Angel is now 8 years old, as of April 10th. She has a gentle heart, poor thing lives with a bunch of strong willed children. She is starting to hold her own, with a lot of encouragement.

Travis is 4 right now. He is a busy little buddy! It has been great for Jacks to have another little guy in the house.

Chris & I are so blessed with these kids along with our 3 other kids, Maddie (almost 9), Tristan 5, and Jacks (almost 3). God is Good!

MOPS Jazz & Java

What a great day! Jazz & Java is such a special day! We heard 3 testimonies and we all shared a day of opening our hearts! The food was abundant and delicious. My sister, Jessy, sang a wonderful song that fit the day perfectly.

It has also been called Tea & Treasures, this year we just changed it up a bit. My first year of MOPS, this was the meeting that showed me that it doesn't matter where you have been. MOPS is about loving ALL Mommies! I thought MOPS was all about the "good" christian moms who grew up in church and knew the bible backwards & forwards. I felt so much relief when I realized that other moms sitting next to me, had it rough, or made bad choices. In a nutshell...we are all sinners. There is no perfect mom, we are all loved and accepted...we just have to let ourselves be accepted! Over the years I have shared my testimony and heard many others MOPS moms share their testimony. It is such an amazing thing to see inside someone else's heart and REALLY meet them for the first time (even if you think you know them well already).

It was a special day and I feel blessed to have been part of it!

Geez, I got hooked up with facebook and forgot all about my poor little blog! Here is another quick update on the Minihan world:

* Chris is healing and doing much better with his foot. Stitches are out and he can once again take actual showers. I think the bath taking was making hime feel a little less masculine! :)

* Mom Minihan is doing well. She had her surgery to fix her nose. She also had here stitches removed this week and recovering well.

* I am working hard to get this year's March for Babies campaign oragnaized and moving.

* Jazz & Java is coming and I am trying to get that all settled as well.

* I already miss Tiffany and hope she is settling in to her new home!

Here is a quick post with the latest happenings in the Minihan's world of Love!

* My Suburban is in the shop today. Getting a new bumper because I was rear ended a couple weeks ago. Didn't do too much to my big ol' tank, but smashed up her little sedan pretty good. No major injuries. I get more quality time with my chiropractor and some painful, but effective massage therapy. Boy...that is no relaxation massage, that is fo' sho'!

* Daddy Minihan (aka Chris) had surgery last Thursday on his left foot and is recovering from that. He had a pinched nerve in his 3rd innerspace (sound smart don't I?! Heh, heh!). Today he left for a sales training in Portland and has a VERY NICE hotel room to elevate his foot in... while I am stuck at home with stacks of dirty dishes, a mountain of laundry... ok I am done with my pitty party!

* Had our first conference call getting organize to lead the charge in Pierce County for March for Babies! Jess and I are so excited to see what great things will be done for babies with this years campaign!

* Trying to brainstorm for Jazz & Java. This is super special day at MOPS and us table leaders take the charge on that one. I have a good feeling about it, but not having any luck on ideas to come with those feelings... I have confidence we (all the table leaders) will pull it off and show the Mommies Christ's LOVE!

* Praying for Nana (Chris' Mom)! She took a fall about the same time I had my wreck. She fell on the gravel driveway, unfortunately her hands did not make it to the ground before her face. She broke her nose and has to have surgery tomorrow. She has had some pretty colorful bruising for the last week and a half.

I guess that is it for now...keep you posted...get it POSTed. Is that dorky to use blogger humor? Maybe I am just tired!

RVCC Groundbreaking

I am so excited! Our church finally did our official Groundbreaking Ceremony for our new campus! It is a couple blocks from the house and I am so glad our family gets to celebrate this together. It is my hope that one day, when they have their own families, they can say, "Geez I was a little kid when my Mom & Dad brought us here and it was just an empty field..."

I was so thankful and blessed to have Chris there. He has been attending church regularly with me for a few months now and it is a beautiful thing to have my best friend/love of my life celebrating God's love with me!

Favorite Things Friday!

Ok, Tiff and all you other Bloggin' Buddies out there, here are my first official Favorite Things!

1. This week my favorite day was Spa Day. This was the first time I actually got to just relax and do the Spa day activities. The other years I have been in charge or helping with something. It was great Tiff and Tiffany did an amazing job! It was beautiful!

2. My sweet hubby! We are having date day this Saturday! I just love to have time alone with him!

3. March for Babies (March of Dimes). We have a meeting this Saturday, Jessy & I, to get the ball rolling this year! I love the cause we are supporting, being a mommy of 3 preemies! I am exciting to get everything started and see how our family team, Maddie's Marchers, grows this year. I am also really excited for Jessy and I to help all the other family teams in Pierce County grow, as we are the Family Team Chairs again this year.

I can feel my brain growing! I am finding a whole new world with blogging! Mashel said I would get addicted...didn't take me long!

My playlist right now has some special songs! "The Best is Yet to Come" was our unity candle song. "The Way You Look Tonight" was our first dance song. "Everything" always brings my heart right to Chris! "I Need You to Love Me" always puts a lump in my throat and makes my heart swell with God's love! I just love "Quando, Quando, Quando"!!!

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Santa was good to the kids at our house. We are so happy that he loves to celebrate Jesus' Birthday! Here are a few pictures Chris took.
